Estimating the Number of Windows

How to count

Window cleaning bids are based on the number of windows to be cleaned and the size of those windows.

  • Standard windows such as the one shown to the right counts as one (1).
  • Smaller windows such as the arched window show here count as half (1/2). In other words, two small windows can be cleaned for the price of one regular sized window.
  • Larger-than-standard windows are priced with the size of a standard window in mind. For example, a window that is twice the size of a standard window would count as two (2).

Exceptions

French doors and leaded glass windows are the exceptions to the rule.

  • French doors are priced by the number of panes within the door.
  • Leaded glass windows incur additional cost because they are delicate and need special care.
